Ladies it is so important that we are on our A Game when it comes to our finances especially as we get older. There are so many things that we should have in place that are not really that difficult but we don’t think about until it’s too late.
I found a website that is all about women and finances as well as other critical things that we should either be doing or thinking about when it comes to our well being. Now the website does require a fee to join but I found that you can surf this website and get really good information w/o joining.
Here are a couple of subjects that are discussed:
Credit
Financial Planning
Estate & Legacy
Family & Money
Life Stages & Planning
Retirement
The list goes on….I have added this website to my “favorites” section because I have found the information to be very helpful. So much so that I am finally getting my Will together!! So when you have a second please check out Women & Co and don’t get put off by the membership fee because as I said there are plenty of areas on the website that are open for you to view at your leisure w/o membership.
To your financial health!!

PPP's Tip of the Week

Just hearing the words "tax time" can send some folks into a frenzy trying to locate all the necessary paperwork. This week's tip may not help you for this tax season but if you start now it may be very helpful for next year!

Keep Good Records
If you don't keep good records, you're probably not claiming all your allowable income tax deductions and credits. Set up a system now and use it all year. It's much easier than scrambling to find everything at tax time, only to miss items that might have saved you money.

Time to get ready for Christmas!
Ahhhh…Halloween is over and it’s time to turn my attention to my favorite time of year…Christmas! Yes, I know that Thanksgiving is in the middle, but after Halloween, it’s full speed ahead to Christmas for me. Thanksgiving is merely a speed bump on the road.I must admit that I like everything about Christmas…from the religious celebrations to the commercialism of the season. But all in all, I think that this time of year causes people to act better towards each other and look forward to the things of the season to come.
I’d like to offer some hints that I follow to help ease you into this busy time of year.
The first thing that I try to do is to get my calendar together. There are so many things going on and I hate to miss anything. From exhibits to programs to ceremonies to parties, a calendar is the key to organization. And if you have a family to keep track of, may I suggest a big, centrally located one?
Next, I like to start formulating my Christmas card and Christmas gift lists. The earlier I get started with my gift list, the better chance I have of getting gifts that people really like. It also helps with not leaving anyone off the list. And because I am such an impulsive shopper, a list helps me to stay on track.
Finally, I like to check out my decorations and see if there is anything that I need to replace or add to however I am planning to decorate. Every year there are always so many wonderful new things that come out (and don’t forget, I’m an impulsive shopper), so if I re-evaluate what I have, I am able to minimize my desires to purchase new decorations (sounds good anyway, right?)
Once all of that is done…let the shopping begin!!!
