Hobo’s Question of the Day

I recently went on vacation with a couple of friends of mine for a weekend vacation. The trip started out just fine, and then one of my friends (my opinion) started behaving very withdrawn, somewhat angry, and uncooperative. Whatever suggestions I or anyone else made, she was reluctant to provide any suggestion as to what would make the trip more interesting.

Once we returned from the trip it seems as if she has made every effort to avoid talking to me or returning my phone calls. When I finally had the opportunity to talk to her, I asked her was everything okay: her response was “we can talk about it later”. That was three weeks ago.

So, Hobo is asking, just how much effort should one friend place in to “mending” a friendship when one friend seems reluctant to make an effort. And when exactly should a person decide that a friendship may no longer be worth the effort.
