Eyes of a Child

How I wish that I can go back in time
Where there was fun and laughter and smiles for miles
A time when I was more forgiving of all of life’s pain
When I can see sunshine in spite of the rain

All of life’s joys have turned to all of life’s toils
Trying so hard to reach a life time of goals
Oh! I would love to go back to those familiar times; looking at life through the eyes of a child

The eyes of children glisten with innocence
Feeling that everyone that they meet is heaven sent
Giving out kisses and hugs all the while
Looking at life through the eyes of a child

As I sit and reminisce on the times of the past
How the fun was non stop and all I did was laugh
But now that life has led me to a more serious path
More worries, more wonders and more drama than I can ask

If I could take a huge leap back in time
If only for a few minutes to clear my mind
To sit back and laugh when as a grown up I cry
Oh! How I would love to see life through the eyes of a child.
