What more can a football fan say, but Congratulations New Orleans!
I am a diehard Indianapolis fan, but after watching the pre-game shows and many profiles of the people of New Orleans yesterday and seeing how much this win was going to mean to them, it moved me to tears. The continued suffering, poverty and devastation that are still going on in New Orleans, post-Katrina was heartbreaking and should make the American people feel humiliated that we could not help this city and our neighbor more than we are helping Haiti.
Don’t get me wrong; what has happened in Haiti is horrific. But what happened in our own backyard was pretty horrific too and people are still suffering. My husband and I will be going back to New Orleans this summer to see how we can pledge our support for a week. Either cleaning, building, mentoring, etc.
We must never forget that there is always work to do and we can always serve others in some small way.
Have a great week!
Peace and Love,
