I must admit that I am a reality TV junky. I may not religiously follow the droves of reality shows on air, but there are not many that I have not seen at least once. One that comes to mind is the show with Chilli, from the female R&B group TLC. The title of the show is “What Chilli Wants”. The show chronicles Chilli’s experience in finding the perfect man, with the help of a matchmaker.
During the first episode, Chilli gives a list of all of the qualities that she wants her mate to have. I must admit that the list was a little extreme. Well, maybe not extreme, but it was long. The man that she described was pretty much the “perfect man” that most women would build, given the opportunity. The problem arises when Chilli refuses to sacrifice any of the qualities on the list. We all have that one thing that we will not sacrifice when choosing a mate, whether it honesty, sensitivity or money. However, there are some things that you want your mate to possess, but they should not be deal breakers. I give Chilli credit for standing her ground. However, I hope that her desire for the perfect mate does not land her in a world of loneliness. After all, we all have many imperfections and would be single forever if someone didn’t agree to sacrifice when selecting one of us as a mate.
