Congratulations Oscar Winners!!!!

Congratulations to all the Oscar Winners!

But an especially heartfealt congratulations to the African-American winners.....

Monique - Best Supporting Actress for Precious
Roger Ross Williams - Best Documentary Short for Music by Prudence
Geoffrey Fletcher - Best Adapted Screenplay for Precious

Much is made of winners and what they gain by winning. This has not always been the case for African-American winners. Let's hope the tides are turning and we will see more brilliant work for these three and all the other creative, talented and artistic African Americans waiting in the wings.

Also, because I am all about the girl, Congratulations to Kathryn Bigelow for being the first woman to win Best Director! As Monique said it best, politics did not win out over brilliant performance.
