Appreciating our own

Who has seen the cover of the ESPN magazine lately, we have seen this young lady and her sister grow up with a dream, and the dream came through.

We have seen her at her best and worst, when she recently had a blowout with the Line Judge. This was a a big issue all over the news.
Now in a new light, Serena Williams, is now gracing this magazine in all her glory, to my knowledge that did not seem to get a big whooha, I could be wrong.

Blacks, people of color, especially women around the world, and here in the U.S.A seem to have grown to appreciate their own. Appreciating what they are, their size and have developed a better sense of self.

Recently this was the discussion with a group of young ladies I was seeing. They stated in their own way how appreciative they are now to be considered the desirable race. A young lady stated, “ jeez, there are even dolls like us now, and they are in demand". Not only that, but it is kind of the "in thing" to be black.”

Weird statement, definitely, but great to hear. When I asked this young lady to clarify what that meant, she stated, who would think in our generation, that there would be an appreciation of people of color.

Imagine that !!!!!!!
